your love is killing me

[ Weiss had taken to lowering her aura around Mercury as a sign of trust. He liked to mark her skin, too, even if it'd just disappear as soon as she reactivated it. In the beginning, there had been something in her instincts that had told her not to trust Mercury, but she had attributed it to being rejected by Neptune and not really feeling like she had much faith in herself or her judgment in men. She had thought, at that time, that Neptune had felt the same attraction she had right up until the moment he said no. When she was alone at the very dance she'd helped to plan, Mercury had approached her and that had been the start of that. It had been difficult at first, and she still didn't always trust him with everything (caring for someone didn't make him less of a jerk sometimes) but it had been built up enough that she felt relaxed enough with him to do things like that.
That had been why she had let her guard down, figuratively and literally. Weiss had thought that Mercury cared about her, and she him. That was why it had only taken a single kick to take her out.
He'd said that he had something special to show her tonight, so Weiss had taken special care to dress up. She'd worn different heels, and a dress that even matched Mercury's style. It wasn't exactly what someone would want to be wearing given the current circumstances, as she found out almost immediately after consciousness returned to her. Her back hurt, the bark of one of the reddest trees of Forever Fall digging into her bare shoulders, the cool chill of the evening settling in as the sun had started its slow descent beneath the horizon. Her kneejerk reaction was to pull her arms forward, but she was stopped with ease. He did a good job to tie her wrists in a way that prevented her from making the necessary arcs to activate her semblance even if she reactivated her aura the second that she had woken up. Panic was setting in though. She was alone, or at least she thought upon first glance, dressed up for a date of all things in the middle of a Grimm-infested forest. No weapon. Everything had happened so fast she wasn't even sure if Mercury had been the one to knock her out, and a huge part of her wanted to believe that he didn't- so she wouldn't accept it right away. ]
Mercury?
[ Her voice called out in a whisper, wondering if maybe he was nearby.. if he wasn't, then hopefully whoever the assailant was would show his face. Or at least it'd let her know that she wasn't about to be eaten by Grimm if an Ursa didn't pop out of the bushes. ]
