🎆 Grimmjow's First New Years Sleepover! 🎆

[ After the situation on the balcony, things had calmed down a little. Yui and Grimmjow had separated for a brief time, but only so that Yui could go get a few things since she was spending the night with him. Her pajamas and a few toiletries, and she let Melissa know that she would be gone for the evening for "New Years Festivities." Melissa seemed to have bought it and reminisced about being a kid again (odd for a doll, but Melissa was odd to begin with).

After that, she'd hurried back to Grimmjow's room. It was the only one of the Arrancar's rooms that she knew where was without having to seriously think about it, since it was the only one she'd been to unless she needed to drag one of them out to actually attend class or to bring them something. Grimmjow's she'd been to frequently though, for those reasons and far more intimate ones. (It was best to just come over first thing in the morning or he'd surprise her later in the day at a far less appropriate time too..)

Now that she was settled and changed into her jammies, Yui made her way to Grimmjow's bed to sit on the edge of it, folding her legs atop the duvet. ]

[grimmjow wanted to sleep in today. actually- he was certainly set on it. however when his door had opened and he sensed the presence of another human he woke up right away. her mother had asked him to help move some heavy boxes around in the shrine, she needed both her sons and him as well apparently. he had grunted at her, told her no, but she was just as insistent as yui.

dammit all.

so, grimmjow had gotten up since he figured this woman wouldn't shut up until he helped. he had gone down to the shrine area and helped moved tons of heavier objects. he was taller than yui's brothers, and stronger, so it was easy for him to assist. even in his gigai body- he was still stronger than everyone else in the area.

everything had been going smoothly, until one of her brothers pushed over a stack of boxes in the storage area and caused them to fall on grimmjow's head. he hadn't been happy at all, and of course this prompted a fight. grimmjow was swearing at the brother, and the brother was pushing him back- wanting to fight. so yui would hear all of this eventually.]

Hahh? You wanna fight...? Keh-! I ain't about to pass up that offer- I have't ripped into someone in forever! Keep talkin', I dare ya!

[even as he talked, blood dripped down his face due to just how badly he had been hit by heavy objects. he didn't feel much pain at all, but his gigai body simply wasn't as durable.]

[ Oh god. If Yui had seen him when he was being helpful, she was going to make him breakfast and bring it out to him. But it only took a few seconds before it devolved into him yelling about fighting. Yui quickly slipped on her slippers and nabbed the first aid kit from the cabinet on her way out the door. ]

Grimmjow, you need to have that looked at!

[ The 'need to have that looked at' seemed to somehow say 'come with me now or you're going to end up fighting me.' It didn't particularly matter that Yui couldn't win a fight against him if her life depended on it, she still had no problem giving him that tone. It wasn't even undermined by the fact that she actually was concerned and wanted to clean him up. ]

[...as soon as yui called out to him, he stopped his smiling and frowned. he was just glaring over at her, then back to her brother, then back over to her. he was debating even listening to her- he really did want to fight... but he knew just how mad yui could get too.

grimmjow let out a low grunt, and then went to walk over to her. as he passed her brother, he made sure to have his shoulder collide with the brother's, pushing him back entirely. it was violent and immature but like hell he cared.]

I'm fine.

[he said that once he was closer to her, but he wasn't exactly resisting her. he waited for her, indicating that she should lead the way.]

[ Day two and Grimmjow was already threatening her family. She knew who Grimmjow was, how he was, but she hadn't had to be around him when anyone who he could truly hurt was around. Every person she loved was vulnerable to him and she was the only one who could feel safe around him. Stifling who he was for too long would inevitably lead to him either snapping or hating her.

It hadn't even been a full two days since he had arrived and already Yui could feel the stress building up in herself. The knowledge that even though she loved him, that didn't mean that he could respect what she loved as well, weighed on her. She didn't know what she would do if her family decided that Grimmjow was dangerous, that he couldn't have her.

Yui didn't say anything for a few moments as she lead Grimmjow back to her room. She was in her pajamas, she would change once he was fixed up. After arriving in the room, Yui turned around and looked him in the eyes. ]

I know.. I know you like to fight, but please don't fight them. I don't want to see anyone I care about hurt or worse, Grimmjow. That includes you, but you're not likely to be the one who loses. Please don't pick a fight with my brothers, and if they're picking a fight with you, then take the high road. I'm not telling you this is what you have to do, I'm asking you. Please.

[ She would fix him up as soon as he replied. But she wanted to know what his response was first. ]

[he knew this was coming.

grimmjow had silently followed her into her room, only stopping after she had turned to talk to him. he listened to her, just barely understanding but he was able to grasp the gist of it. this was her family, as she had explained to him before, and she loved them. he was still barely understanding love- it was still so strange and confusing to him, but he did understand that yui cared about the wellbeing of these people.

grimmjow shrugged.]

He started it- I was just gonna finish it. [he gestured at his bleeding face, and then went to go sit on her bed.]

....I get it. I won't harm 'em.

[ She follows him over to her bed, setting the first aid kit on her lap after sitting down next to him and opening it up. ]

Thank you. I know it's hard for you.. but I appreciate it. I really do.

[ She pauses for a moment, then decides to add. ] He's a pain in the butt sometimes though, so it's not just you. He's my brother, so he'll try to give me a hard time a lot. If it makes you feel any better, I'm making dinner tonight so... I'll make sure he doesn't get any meat.

[ She remembered when Loki did that to her. It was a good way to subtly let someone know that you were mad at them without actually doing anything wrong. Yui pulled out an alcohol pad and reached up to start cleaning the wound. ] You can have his share.

[ Yui always had a tendency to be into the things that the person she was close to was. She didn't mind it- fluidity was alright as long as she didn't sacrifice who she was. Making sure to get back at her brothers for Grimmjow, even if it was in less violent ways than he would choose, was something she could do to satiate that need to accomodate. ]

[grimmjow didn't move as she tended to him, he simply sat in silence and stared off at random parts of her room. the alcohol touching his wound would have hurt a regular human, but such an insignificant pain was nothing to him. he didn't flinch, he kept his same horrid posture even while she dabbed at his open cut.

he would have to be more careful if he wanted to keep this gigai around. it seemed to be so fragile, unlike his own hardened areancar body. he would rather not go find urahara again to ask for a replacement- one visit to that annoying man was already enough.

grimmjow did finally respond however, a low chuckle left him.]

I want his meat- and extra portions too. [he really enjoyed his meat after all.] ...And your mother is just as convincing as you are when it comes to certain shit.

[she somehow got him of all people to help.]

[ Yui chuckled at his response. That definitely lightened the mood. She felt a little better already, even if there was still some anxiety about the whole situation. She loved him, but that didn't mean there wouldn't be difficulties ahead. ]

I'll buy some extra meat at the market just for you.

[ Once she finished cleaning it, Yui dabbed it with a bit of neosporin, then bandaged up the wound. It was much smaller than it looked when the blood was all over the place, so it wasn't difficult to fix up. Yui didn't think he would need stitches, at least; the benefit of having an inhuman boyfriend. ]

I had to learn it from someone. Thanks for helping her out... Maybe I'll make you some breakfast after all as thanks?

[well- that certainly piqued his interest. getting food definitely seemed like a good reward for helping out her idiotic family.]

What're you gonna make?

[grimmjow grinned at her, now standing up instead of sitting beside her. he placed his hands back into his pockets, and resumed his typical slouching stance.]

Nikujaga for dinner.

[ It was a simple dish- potatoes and vegetables and a little bit of meat. In Grimmjow's case, he would get approximately an equal amount of meat and vegetables since she was rewarding him. As for breakfast.. ]

Right now, how about an omelet?

[...oh that's-..]

An egg huh?

[he still doesn't even know much about human food- but he does recall certain things from back in the school they were at.]

Put meat in that too. [bacon it up giirrlll. either way- grimmjow was turning around to leave.]

I wasn't done movin' that shit around down there. [so obviously- he's going to go finish what he started, and hopefully not get jumped by her brother.]

Okay. Be careful and don't start anything else. If Onii-san gives you some trouble, let me know.

[ She's going to go make an omelet. It will contain rice and chicken. That's close enough to meat and he'll be fine. ]

[he waved her off briefly, and then simply walked back down to where he had been before.

barely an hour had passed but grimmjow had done more work than either of her brothers. he had already moved all of the boxes that needed to be moved, cleaned, and was now working on clearing out the yard. there were lots of weeds that needed to be tended to- and it was rather hard working in a gigai body. grimmjow had stripped off the tanktop he had been wearing- now entirely shirtless.

...of course, this was nothing to him, since he was pretty much always shirtless back home. either way, he was still out back, yanking at all the weeds and making excellent time.]

[ Yui had thought they had some leftover chicken and rice, but it turned out that she hadn't. This omelet would end up taking a little longer than expected, but she managed to scrounge up a piece of raw chicken and get the rice started. Slow-baking it would make it taste much better even if it took a little longer.. and Grimmjow would surely appreciate it more if he was a little hungrier, so maybe there was a slight motive to taking a little longer than necessary...

But she was glad she did. When she came back with a tray of breakfast for both of them (letting her brothers know that there was some left in the kitchen for them), she couldn't help but let her eyes catch on the thin veil of sweat glistening on Grimmjow's glorious expanse of chest. She swallowed slightly, then pulled her eyes up to his face and smiled. ]

Hungry? It looks like you've been working hard.

[once he had heard yui approaching him he had put a stop to the work he had been doing. grimmjow stood up straight and wiped a bit of sweat from his forehead before he looked down at her. it didn't take long for his gaze to wander from her down to the plate of food.]

Fuckin' starving. [hell yeah getting some food from his lover!! perfect. grimmjow took the plate away from her, and he went to sit down on the nearby steps to the one of the shrine buildings. he was expecting her to do the same, so he hadn't gestured for her to follow- it should be a given.]

Doing this kinda stuff is way more fun than just sitting around. It ain't as good as fightin' people but... heh- I get to at least test out what this gigai body can do.

Thanks for helping. Mom said she appreciated it, too. I think she's might throw a parade in your honor if you get everything done before lunch time.

[ Yui is just joking, but it would be nice if her mom could just have a day of relaxation if Grimmjow more than halved her work for the day. Her mom had even joked about her getting together with him so they could always have this kind of work done. Yui had.. tried really hard to laugh it off. At least one person was on their side, even if her brothers weren't. ]

If you want more, there's leftovers in the kitchen, but I made yours extra large already. [ Mostly with all the chicken Manabu didn't get in his for starting fights. But Yui could do that- she was his sibling, after all, that was part of her role as little sister. Yui sat down next to him and set the tray on the other side, close enough that she could feel his body heat near hers. ] Is it good?
