🎆 Grimmjow's First New Years Sleepover! 🎆

[ After the situation on the balcony, things had calmed down a little. Yui and Grimmjow had separated for a brief time, but only so that Yui could go get a few things since she was spending the night with him. Her pajamas and a few toiletries, and she let Melissa know that she would be gone for the evening for "New Years Festivities." Melissa seemed to have bought it and reminisced about being a kid again (odd for a doll, but Melissa was odd to begin with).

After that, she'd hurried back to Grimmjow's room. It was the only one of the Arrancar's rooms that she knew where was without having to seriously think about it, since it was the only one she'd been to unless she needed to drag one of them out to actually attend class or to bring them something. Grimmjow's she'd been to frequently though, for those reasons and far more intimate ones. (It was best to just come over first thing in the morning or he'd surprise her later in the day at a far less appropriate time too..)

Now that she was settled and changed into her jammies, Yui made her way to Grimmjow's bed to sit on the edge of it, folding her legs atop the duvet. ]

[as for grimmjow's pajamas... well, if they could even be called that- really. he had just ditched the rest of his clothes, tossed them on to the nearby chair and remained in his pants still. he was about to get rid of them as well, but he had gotten lazy halfway through and just flopped down on his bed.

at least she didn't keep him waiting long, he would have set out to find her if she hadn't come back to him right away.

grimmjow was laying on his bed, watching as she came over and sat down as well. he had his arms bent and his hands behind his head as he looked over at her with curiosity. the espada shook his head, frowning as usual.]

I slept all day- I'm fine. [was she tired? he didn't ask but it seemed as though he was trying to communicate that to her with just his eyes.]

[ Yui was a little tired. It was past midnight after all, but the emotional drama and the cool air had woken her up enough that she could manage. It's unclear if she got his little attempt to communicate with her or not because of how she answers. ]

Then I can manage to stay up for a little to keep you company.

[ It was a response to his words, but also answered his unspoken question. Yui pulled her feet up on the bed, laying them straight in front of her so that her feet were right next to Grimmjow's lap. His legs were longer than hers, so his feet were easily behind her, but it felt kind of fun to be sitting and facing each other like this, late at night. She wasn't exactly sure what to do this late, however, since usually if she got even to 11pm, she would think she'd stayed up far too late. Yui was an early riser and hardly a night owl. ]

But you really shouldn't sleep during classes, Grimmjow-san. I'm going to be the one to get in trouble if you keep that up...

[wow, don't stay up for just a little- grimmjow wanted to spend the entire night with her after all.

even now she was still nagging him, and he had actually gotten used to it. he just rolled his eyes at her words, now feeling much more uncomfortable just laying down on the bed with his pants on. grimmjow looked down at himself, and he was undoing his belt as he spoke to her.]

If anyone has a problem with that they can come to me- they don't gotta bother you about it.

[and he planned on sleeping tons in class, anyways.]

You don't give anyone much incentive to come to you instead of me with their concerns, Grimmjow-san.

[ Namely because talking to Grimmjow means someone getting pissed off and some kind of fight happening. If they come to Yui, she can usually talk to him in a slightly calmer manner. Besides, she always gets held responsible for all of them somehow. "Human representative" seems to be code for babysitter sometimes. ]

Aren't you cold?

[ Yui watched him as he removed his belt. She had been chilly, so what she'd come over in involved pajama pants, a camisole underneath a long dress-like shirt (or a short dress if she hadn't been wearing pants with it), and a long cardigan over that. Her hair was still tied back, but more loosely, and she would take it out entirely when the time came to sleep. (If the time came to sleep.) Overall she looked like she was ready to curl up in front of a fireplace, compared to Grimmjow's slowly decreasing attire. ]

[he just clicked his tongue in response to her. he didn't want to be approachable either way, talking with others he didn't want to deal with was a hassle. so, maybe she was right in that sense.

grimmjow had undone his belt and he grabbed at his zipper to undo it as well. once that was done he pushed down his pants, lifted his hips a little, and removed his pants all the way. he just had his underwear on now, and he felt much better being out of that stupid pair of pants they had to wear for the uniform.

he settled back down against the mattress, but looked over at her when she asked him that.]

Nah- I don't really get cold. I was used to bein' in a place like Hueco Mundo- no warmth there, so I'm fine.

[ Yui had even thought Grimmjow had hated her right up until the moment he very, very clearly felt the opposite way. Or at least wanted to have sex with her in a classroom. Either way, it'd clearly developed into something that Yui could call a mutual affection. She had feelings of love for him, and even if he would never say it, she was sure that he felt something similar.. He wanted her and wanted to be with her, that was certain.

Grimmjow's honestly about not being cold at all reflected one of the things Yui liked about him. He didn't beat around the bush, even when it could've benefitted him. A cute scenario like him demanding that he was cold and then Yui offering to warm him up with hugs, for example, would certainly be an ideal romantic gesture in her head but he didn't take advantage of that. He was just honest, so Yui never had to worry about him hiding things from her. Even when their night had gone awry and they discovered their love was doomed, he'd still not tiptoed around it. What Yui saw was what Yui got, and she thought that was an admirable characteristic with Grimmjow, even if others didn't always appreciate his attitude.

Yui on the other hand, was still going to be honest, but was going to take advantage of her honest feelings to get said scenario. She tucked her cardigan together, pulling her legs underneath her and moved so that she could plant herself against Grimmjow's side, hoping he would put his arm around her. ]

I'm still cold even if you're not... Is this okay?

[he didn't even think of his honesty, it just sort of happened. he was always so blunt, always so open- and that could be both a good and a bad thing. he could be overly cruel in that case, or even demanding, but his emotions were always out there for anyone to see.

he watched her as she moved in closer to him only to flop down against his side. the espada blinked a few times once she was settled, but it didn't take long for him to do exactly what she wanted him to. he rolled over on to his side, brought a strong arm around her, and pulled her against him. she fit just right, and grimmjow bumped the back of her head gently with his forehead.]

Yeah, this is fine. Now stay like this.

[ Yui was glad that Grimmjow didn't seem to mind her appreciation of cuddling. He had always seemed like the kind of person who wouldn't get close to most people, but after they'd gotten together (or he 'claimed' her, it really just depends on what angle you're looking at it from) she'd started to learn that at the very least if she wanted something and wasn't too pushy about it, he was usually somewhat willing to oblige. Even if it came to her just wanting to be next to him. He said he didn't get cold, but surely he must appreciate warmth if having Yui nearby was of benefit to him.

Yui smiled as he pulled her closer, content to just where she was. It was actually comfortable enough that she closed her eyes. But he said he wanted to stay up, so she made sure to talk so that she didn't fall asleep in what she'd found to be a comfortable spot. ]

Even if I miss my family and friends back home, I'm still glad this happened so I could meet you, Grimmjow-san.

[...he didn't have any of that.

he didn't have friends, he didn't have a family, he didn't even know what he was like when he was alive anymore. now he was just a spirit, a corrupted soul that has been twisted and morphed into something entirely different over several years. he fought so hard to even exist again, thinking about something as trivial as family... it just never occurred to him.]

Why.... do humans care so much about family?

[it was a genuine question- he just didn't understand and he wanted to know more about her. he wanted to get inside of her head further... he just... wanted to know yui that in itself was strange to him, but he was curious.]

[ She understood that arrancar didn't exactly understand things normally. Asking why they cared about family so much beyond 'because they're your family' was a little difficult, but she could see he was trying to stand so Yui would definitely try her best to answer properly. It took her a few seconds, her gaze turning up to the ceiling as she thought. ]

The people who are your family are people who are close to you, who are always by your side and even if you fight or grow distant, they'll always be there for you. Family will always care about you, even if you have no one else left. You don't want them to suffer, so even if it causes you trouble, you go out of your way for them and they'll do it back for you in return. In the end, family is all of that but mostly people you love and can depend on. And when you find someone who isn't related to you like that but you still feel the same way about them, that's why people get married. Because it's how you start a new family. Does that make sense?

[ She's hoping it does.. it was mostly her just explaining how she felt about her family, and about the future one day, but she hoped it was enough for Grimmjow. ]

[it's grimmjow's turn to roll over, on to his back, all in order to stare up at that same ceiling. he listened to her talk, but it all sounded like more of a hassle than anything. grimmjow never felt lonely, he was fine just being on his own and hunting by himself as well. people have flocked to him- the only time he chose someone personally was when he told yui she belonged to him.

he... doesn't even understand love. this is yet another layer he doesn't get.]

And in that case... how do you know you love someone?

[grimmjow frowned at the thought.] I heard somethin' about that before, but it's more what humans 'n shinigami do... just 'cause they actually have hearts. Mine is gone... [he sat up a bit, only to look down at his hollow hole.] ...ripped outta me, and my heart is now the mask on the side of my face.

[so he probably can't even love someone even if he wanted to- at least that's what he figured.]

[ Yui turns her head to watch him as he rolls over, folding her hands in her lap while she does watch him. AS he explains, she gets a little smile on her face instead of what would probably seem like a normal reaction. Her hand goes to hold his. ]

The 'heart' thing is a metaphor. It's usually because when you love someone, being away from them makes your chest ache and when you lose that person, it feels like your heart is breaking, but when you're near them it feels light and happy.

[ Gently, Yui tried to nudge both of their hands a little closer to the edge of his hole. ] Just because your heart isn't in your chest anymore doesn't mean that you can't still love. Love is.. love is the one things that humans don't have a perfect definition for. Because it's all of those things from being a family, plus wanting to be with them physically and emotionally, and when you're with that person sometimes it feels like everything about you is light. Just being near them or seeing the person you love makes you happy, and sometimes when you're apart it hurts to think about them because you want to be with them again.

[ It's a little bit of a scary topic for Yui, because Grimmjow's never said it to her and she's heard from others than arrancar can't love. It's complicated, because she's developed those kinds of feelings for him. Yui drew the hand that wasn't with Grimmjow's up to her chest, over where her heart was. ]

You don't have to say it to me if that isn't how you feel, Grimmjow-san. I'd be really happy if you did, but I don't want to hear it if you don't think it's true. [ It'd be more painful if he started lying to her just to make her happy, so she adds a stubborn: ] Got it?

[it's definitely complicated, he agrees with that much. he was supposed to just be a killer, nothing more nothing less, and yet here he was laying with a human and talking about emotions. he figured this would definitely be a sign of weakness... but what she was saying made sense, he did feel lighter when she was around. he felt a warmth inside of him, he felt a intense longing to just be around her, and he knew he would kill anyone that dared to get between them.

he wanted her, he longed for her... and now he was curious if he did love her.]

...That thought of you bein' unable to see me 'n be with me when this is all done made me furious. More than I ever thought possible.

[he gripped her hand tighter as he stared at the hand over her chest. he wouldn't say he loved her, that was too much of a stretch, but he would certainly say he never wanted to be away from her.]

I only want you- and I'll never leave you. So... if you wanna call it love then whatever, I just know you're all I want.

[it had been a month since then.

he had of course been looking for her ever since they had gotten back. he had been worried that aizen might have taken their memories away from one another, that had been threatened before... but- no he knew her, he remembered her fully. he was deteermined to find her.

it had taken a long month before he had noticed a reiatsu presence that was like hers. it wans't upon getting closer that he had realized it really was her. she was there.... she was just as he had remembered her. long, purple hair, a beautiful smile, and a presence that made him simply want to stay around her always.

...but would she even be able to see him...?

even though he was suppressing his current reiatsu, it was still overly strong. people who walked past him were forced to hold a hand over their mouths, feeling sick and dizzy... but he didn't care. he was standing just off to the side of the sidewalk, watching her and seeing her and her friends get closer.

he didn't want to move, he didn't want to rush over to her-... just because he was so unsure. if she couldn't see him then.... then he really wouldn't know what to do. maybe, he would have to find that idiotic guy in the annoying hat and ask him for one of those weird suits, just so she could see him again.

even so, he kept on waiting, even holding his breath as she walked closer.]

[graduations]

[ As she walked closer, if Grimmjow had been paying attention, he would be able to tell that she was slightly more withdrawn from the group than she should have been. Quieter, only perking up when someone's attentions were directed at her so as to not let them worry. The fact was, since she came back, she'd been trying really hard not to get depressed. She knew Grimmjow would be back, but she couldn't help but think it might be years before she ever saw him again. Even then, she wouldn't see anyone else again probably. It wasn't easy to keep her mood up because of it.

She hadn't been looking for him right then or she would've noticed him sooner. Yui and her friends seemed to pass right by him at first, but suddenly she stopped walking just after she passed him and turned around, her eyes wide. ]

Grimmjow?

[ Her friends looked back at her, asking if she was okay and what she said. She shakes her head quickly. ]

You guys go ahead, I'll catch up later--

[he was about to grow angry due to her passing him, simply because that would have confirmed that she can't see him-... when she suddenly stopped and looked over at him. they made eye contact, he heard her say his name, and it was like there was a sudden weight lifted off of his chest.

she can see him... she has enough spiritual energy to know he was there.

once her friends started walking away, grimmjow took the opportunity to walk towards her. he didn't say anything, he kept his cold gaze on her, and he eventually reached out towards her. his fingertips touched at her cheek, feeling her warm, and there was a moment where his cold gaze became softened.

she was here... he found her.]

Told you I was going to find you. [except, it just doesn't occur to him she may not be able to handle his reiatsu... but no matter, they were still together. and them being together once more just made him grin at her, like the triumphant king he certainly was.]

[graduations]

[ She'd started having dreams about this moment only a couple of days after they'd parted. Again and again, she'd repeated the scene in her head. Yui would've thought that this was another one of those dreams, except something was different. In her dreams, she didn't feel dizzy. It was almost overwhelming as his hand made contact with her. She knew what it was though- he had warned her that humans couldn't be around those with strong.. what was it? Reiatsu?

But for now, there wasn't any need to worry him. She felt dizzy, like her head was starting to pound, but she could see him. He was there and she could bear that if she could spend her days with him.

The tears weren't from that feeling, they were from the floodgates of emotion that had just burst inside of her. She loved him, and seeing him again.. even if he'd promised, it was such a relief, and she was so happy and she couldn't help but cry from how much she missed him. Even despite that sickening feeling building inside of her from being close, she jumped up and wrapped her arms around his shoulders, not caring if she was dangling or that he was a king or whatever- she wanted to hold him, and he'd taught her that being selfish at least once in a while was okay. She'd let this be her once in a while. ]

I missed you so much!

This was the longest month of my life.

[he watched her as she started to cry, he saw the tears slipping down her face and he was about to ask her what was the matter-... but then she simply jumped and hugged him. instantly grimmjow wrapped his powerful arms around her as well, holding her firmly against his chest. he didn't know that she was dizzy, he knew that normal humans couldn't handle his strength... but he wasn't even thinking about that right now.

he was here with her... and she made his chest feel warm, she made him feel much more complete than he had been the past month. was this really love-....? could he actually feel that emotion....? at this point, he agreed with her... he probably loved her, or held the closest emotion to that as he could.]

Guess I did get a little lonely too. [he never missed anyone, but he definitely missed her.]

I'm never leavin' now that I've found you, Yui.

[graduations]

[ He guessed? Yui couldn't help but let out a small chuckle at his words. He was still as hesitant as ever to claim he felt anything for her, but if that was true, he wouldn't have come after her. He wouldn't have even considered mentioning he might have been lonely if he wasn't. She knew how to interpret his words by now.

Once his grip was firm enough that she could loosen hers a little without falling, she did and moved to press a kiss to his lips. Her head was swimming and she knew she should probably let go, but she didn't want to. ]

[and he didn't hesitate to press his mouth firmly to hers either. he felt her warm lips, the taste of her engulfed him once more, and he realized that he had definitely missed her a lot in the past month.

it was true however, he would never have tried to find her if he didn't want to be with her. he felt angry when he was forced to suddenly be without her. he made the decisions, no one was allowed to tell him what he was allowed to have and what he wasn't. she was his, that was it.

grimmjow eventually let go of her, pulling back from her lips and setting her back down on the ground. he still stayed close to her-... and he wanted to kiss her some more... until he saw some other humans that started to pass him look like they were about to pass out... so...]

...How are you handling my reiatsu? [er... actually she did look a little ill.]

[ Apparently her own spiritual energy had gotten at least strong enough that she could see him, even if they weren't strong enough to fight off the crushing level of energy being exuded from Grimmjow's own reiatsu. Not for a long period of time anyway. Yui seemed to be breathing a little heavier than she normally did after a kiss, especially one that brief, but she looked up at him and put a smile on her face. ]

I'm fine. I don't feel very good, but I can see you so..

[ It was worth it. It was so worth it. At least right now. ]

Come on, let's go somewhere quieter.

[ The sidewalk was busy, after all. ]

[she has stronger reiatsu than most, in that case....

for once, he was a little concerned about someone. if it were anyone else he would have laughed at their attempts to stay awake with him around, his pressure could even kill a person if he allowed it to flourish entirely... but he didn't want yui to feel horrible around him.

he clicked his tongue a little... bu not because of her just...-]

Look-... [his gaze drifted away from hers, just because he didn't want to actually do this but he didn't want her to collapse on him.] ...Go to your place, I'll be able to sense you and I'll be there soon. I know a way to fix this situation... I just didn't want to have to deal with that fucking annoying bastard...

[but it was for yui, so he wanted to do it.] ..I'll be back soon... 'cause now that I found you I don't wanna be away from you, but what I got in mind will solve this.

[graduations]

[ It was probably a residual build-up from being exposed to so many gods and arrancar over a long period of time, since she knew she'd never been able to see them before. She hadn't even known what reiatsu was before Grimmjow had explained it to her. Yui reached out to grab his hand, even if she knew that it wasn't good for her to touch him. ]

Just a minute longer.

[ Even if she felt like she would soon pass out, she wanted to stay with him just a little longer. ]

Will you be back tomorrow?

[this damn woman...! he was telling her that he would be back, and this was an order- she should really understand what he was getting at. but this was yui after all, she hardly listened to him even... and that was still so different for someone like him.

since she said to go somewhere else, he just grabbed her hand tighter and pulled her away from the sidewalk. he walked over to an alleyway, pulling her along with him until they weren't as close to the sidewalk anymore.]

Yeah... [actually-] ...I can probably be done by tonight, since I won't be takin' any of that guy's shit. [fucking urahara.]

[graduations]

If you're back by tonight, make sure you come to the front. I'll wait outside until it gets dark, but if you sneak into my room, it's not going to be acceptable. I live at a shrine, which is holy ground, so there will be absolutely no desecration.

[ Despite feeling ill, despite not wanting to let go of him and following him into an alley, Yui still managed a firm tone. She knew that he didn't typically take no for an answer and she didn't typically argue (or even want to argue) unless there was a circumstance that dictated it.

This circumstance was more the fact that she wanted to be with him as much as she possibly could, and that wasn't something they could do at her home. Just being together though.. that should be okay. She wasn't sure what she would tell her parents, but she'd figure it out. Foreign exchange student maybe..?? She'd have to find a way to kick him out of the house during the day.. Maybe he could enroll in her school..

She'd figure something out when her head wasn't pounding. ]
